“The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is the only party that is conscious of the people’s worriment, whereas all the other parties in the country are bent on perpetuating the status quo. The people of Hazara would break it by joining hands with the MQM,” said Baba Haider Zaman, a veteran leader of the movement for the Hazara province. In a telephonic conversation, MQM chief Altaf Hussain assured Zaman that his party would continue to struggle for making the resolution on creation of the Hazara and Seraiki provinces a law. Hussain said, “The MQM would not disappoint the oppressed people and would not be content until this resolution is enacted into a law.”
Reiterating his party’s stance of serving the people selflessly, Hussain reminded Zaman that the MQM has already done its duty by echoing the wishes and aspirations of the masses. The resolution submitted by the MQM has been accepted for debate in the assembly, Hussain said. He paid his gratitude to the parties that are supporting the resolution submitted by the MQM in the National Assembly. “However, some parties are opposing the resolution,” he regretted, and maintained that the MQM would fight those parties with the support of the people. Hussain also urged Zaman not to care about the opposing forces as the MQM itself has been subjected to oppression and injustices from these forces.
He also alluded to the journey of the oppressed people, saying that “we would not give up in the face of opposition from anti-people forces.” Zaman thanked Hussain for tabling the resolution in the National Assembly, and criticised those who have been politicking on the Hazara province. “The MQM has proven itself to be an actual political party that represents the poor and the oppressed people,” he added. Hussain congratulated the people of Southern Punjab and Hazara on the acceptance of the resolution for the creation of Southern Punjab province and Hazara province in the National Assembly for discussion.
Terming the acceptance of the resolution for discussion in the assembly as a welcome move, he said that the MQM is striving for the rights of the oppressed and downtrodden people in the country, and asserted that only the MQM would restore the usurped rights of the people. Hussain thanked the Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazlur Rehman) and the elected representatives from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas for supporting the resolution.
He also praised the parliamentary leader of the MQM in the National Assembly Dr Farooq Sattar, Deputy Parliamentary Leader Haider Abbas Rizvi and all the MQM parliamentarians for fighting the case of the Hazarewal people, and on the acceptance of the resolution for discussion in the lower house of the parliament.
integration of power in provinces is harmful for Pakistan good job by MQM
