The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said on Tuesday that it favoured military courts for a specific time period to curb lawlessness and ensure peace and stability in the country. Meanwhile, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif chaired the party’s Balochistan Coordination Committee meeting in Raiwind on Tuesday and discussed election issues. He also deliberated on the suitability of candidates for by-elections on the vacant seats from the National Assembly and Punjab Assembly. The meeting also finalised a two-day tour of Nawaz Sharif to Balochistan. It was decided that Nawaz would go to Balochistan to hold provincial elections on January 6. Earlier, Sharif deferred the party’s Punjab elections scheduled to be held on January 4 (today).
