The Kamber-Shahdadkot district police have detained six women and two infants for the last 10 days without any justification, Sindh’s lawmakers were informed during the session of the provincial assembly on Tuesday. Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Zareen Majeed on a point of order said the Naseerabad police conducted a raid in Bityun village near Wagan town and detained six women along with two infants. Drawing the attention of the House towards this glaring violation of human rights, the female legislator said the women’s fault was that they happen to be residents of the same village and distant relatives of an alleged criminal there. However, instead of arresting the alleged criminal, the police detained innocent people. Majeed demanded that the report of the incident should be presented before the House.
