Taliban terrorists held in Islamabad

Two alleged terrorists, affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), were arrested from Shakrial, a suburb of the federal capital, police said on Tuesday. A senior police official said the arrests were made in the precincts of the Shahzad Town Police Station, when Crime Investigation Department (CID) raided a house on a tip-off. According to police, the terrorists, identified as Akbar Ali and Ali Gul, hail from Khyber Agency. The official said on the information obtained by the two terrorists, their accomplice, Musa, was also captured from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by local police.
Police sources said the arrested terrorists wanted to carry out a suicide attack at a mosque in Islamabad and they were waiting for their accomplice, who was in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to bring a suicide vest for them. When contacted, a police spokesman confirmed the arrests of two alleged terrorists but said no explosives or weapons had been recovered from them.
