Anjuman Faiz-ul-Islam re-elects its president

Mian Siddique Akbar was re-elected as president of Anjuman Faiz ul Islam for next three years during election held at Faizabad Campus of the organisation. A three-member committee headed by Qazi Arif Hussain conducted the elections that are held after every three years. According to the results, the newly-elected Executive Committee included Raja Fateh Khan (General Secretary), Prof Aziz Ahmed Hashmi (Senior Vice-President), Dr MD Khan and Engr Abdul Razzaq (vice-presidents), Maj (r) Basharat Ahmed Kiani (Joint Secretary), Raja Sabir Hussain (Financial Secretary) and M Badr Munir (Publicity Secretary).
Siddique Akbar, while addressing the body, reiterated continuation of his mission of retrieving orphans and destitute from deprived segment of the society and to help them through moral-oriented education to become useful citizens. Anjuman Faiz ul Islam is a social welfare and academic organisation of broadminded and moderate social workers from different walks of life working since 1943 to provide shelter and necessities of life to destitute Muslim children. Its first batch comprised thirty destitute Muslim children from the riot and famine stricken Bengal, raised on advice of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Mian Siddique said the pioneers of the Anjuman and their followers had since been playing a reconstructive role for national and humanitarian cause. He informed that the body was presently providing necessities of life and facilities of formal and technical education to over 1000 orphans and destitute children, enrolled from different regions of the country in its six welfare centres in and around Rawalpindi. General Secretary Raja Fateh Khan briefed on a number of construction plans completed during the last three years.
