Smartly dressed out buglers of the Punjab Police sounded the “Fanfare” during New Year’s midnight service held in St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Nabha Road on Saturday. Sounding of bugles during worship in the Church is an annual tradition which signifies close cooperation between the government and Christian community, as also harmony between Muslims and Christians.
Rev Ernest Shams organizes this exciting event for a well-attended service every year. He also delivered an inspiring sermon on hope and peace throughout war-torn regions of the world, and an end to discrimination and persecution of minorities. Rev Hanook Haque led special prayers for durable peace and concord among nations and communities of different faiths. A large congregation participated in the midnight worship.
