Why did Khosa offer Sapna’s father Rs 7m diyat: brother

Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Najam-ul-Hasan on Friday adjourned till January 5 the hearing of a petition filed by former Punjab chief minister Dost Muhammad Khosa for registration of a case against the father, brother and sister of Zeba khan alias Sapna Khan, for kidnapping her to blackmail him.
Dost through his counsel Zubair Khalid advocate, pleaded that his ex-wife Sapna Khan was in custody of Misal Khan, her self claimed father and her brother Amin Khan and that they were leveling false allegations of kidnap and murder against him to harass him and damage his repute.
Rejecting the claims of Misal khan, Khosa’s counsel said that Khosa had divorced Sapna on June 19, 2011, therefore it was false that she was last seen in the GOR-1 with Khosa, where his guards had tortured or kidnapped her.
He said that Dost married Zeba on June 2, 2010 and out of this wedlock a girl was born, who was in the care of his family now. He said that some differences surfaced between them after one year, resulting in Sapna leaving his house on June 17, 2011 and Khosa divorced her later. Muhammad Azhar Siddique advocate, the counsel for Misal, pleaded that Misal’s petition for recovery of Sapna was pending adjudication in the court and that should be decided before hearing Khosa’s petition. After listening to arguments from both sides the court adjourned the hearing till Jan 5.
Dost Khosa has impleaded the Punjab inspector general of police (IGP), Lahore capital city police officer (CCPO), Race Course station house officer (SHO), Nawab Town SHO, Misal Khan, and the Lahore additional session judge who had given the order of First Investigation Report (FIR) against him on the application of Misal khan.
Later, talking to reporters outside the court, Khosa’s counsel claimed that Sapna was not the daughter of Misal Khan and his case was bogus, aimed at blackmailing his client.
While Amin Khan, brother of Sapna, said that if their stance was false, then why had Khosa offered Sapna’s family Diyat (blood money) of Rs 7 million when they had protested against her kidnap and murder and filed a case/application against him.
