Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Friday declared the federal ministers responsible for unscheduled power and gas loadshedding.
Talking to media persons outside the Punjab Assembly, Sanaullah said that gas and power cuts should be carried out at a bearable extent, adding that the provinces did not get proposed rights under the 18th constitutional amendment.
The provincial minister said that the federal government was specifically discriminating against the Punjab province which is violation of the constitution, and the provincial government can seek justice from the Supreme Court in this regard.
He also said that local bodies elections have not been conducted in Punjab nor in any other province, and added that commencement of elections is the responsibility of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), but it is impossible until formulation of new voter lists.
The provincial law minister also blamed the federal government for providing Rs70 million to PPP members for preparation of the elections in the name of development funds.
Commenting on the recent Gujranwala shootout, he said this incident represents feudal thought in the society and along with the police and government, the society should also play its role in this regard.
