Two robbers gunned down a 45-years-old man on offering resistance to them during a robbery bid in the Gowalmandi Police precincts on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Manzoor Hussain, a resident of residential area located near Shalimar Link Road.
As per details Manzoor Hussain was heading back to his home on his motorcycle after withdrawing cash from Allied Bank located at the Bank Square Chowk. Two robbers approached him near Lakshmi Chowk, when he resisted. The robbers opened fire on Manzoor, who died instantly. The robbers managed to escape from the scene after taking Rs 45,000 and a mobile phone of the deceased. The police, upon receiving information from the locals, reached the scene and shifted the body to morgue for autopsy. A case has been registered against the two robbers.
GIRL KILLED: Unidentified men strangled a 22-year-old girl, yet to be identified, to death after subjecting her to torture in the Race Course Police precincts on Thursday.
The body was found in a drain located along the Zafar Ali Road, when a security guard of a private hospital situated at the said road observed the body floating in the drain. The security guard immediately informed police, who shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and started probing into the matter. The Police investigator said that the deceased was subjected to severe torture by the killers as marks of torture and bruises were visible on the face, head and feet of the deceased. The investigators said that the marks on the neck showed tat she had been strangled to death after torture.
ACCIDENT: A 35-year-old man, who had sustained injuries during a traffic accident at the Burki Road two days ago, succumbed to his injuries at the Services Hospital on Thursday.
The hospital sources said that Ramzan, a resident of Burki Road, was knocked down and injured by an unidentified speeding vehicle at the Burki Road two days ago. He was brought to the hospital, where the doctors provided him with medical care but he failed to recover and on Thursday, he died of his injuries.
The police handed over the body to the family of the deceased after completing the legal formalities.
