Opposition in PA walks out over Sanaullah’s remarks about Aisha Malik

Opposition members in the Punjab Assembly strongly protested inside the house and staged a walkout over remarks by Law Minister Rana Sanaullah about Aisha Ahad Malik, who claims to be wife of Hamza Shahbaz, son of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The atmosphere became tense when Aisha Ahad Malik reached the Punjab Assembly on Friday with all the documents and presented them to the members of the assembly and the media to prove that she was indeed the wife of Hamza Shahbaz.
Aisha Malik met leader of the opposition Raja Riaz in his assembly chamber and requested that the opposition should raise the issue of her torture by Lahore police. Raja Riaz then raised the issue in the house and said that daughter of the nation has come to the elected house for seeking justice. He demanded the speaker to order an investigation into the whole matter.
At this, Law Minister Rana Sanaullah made a sarcastic remark and said that when Aisha was even not the daughter of her father, how can she claim to be daughter of the nation. He said if the opposition wants to become her father, it can do so. He said Aisha Ahad was a criminal and she was brought to the house by the opposition.
This infuriated the members of the opposition who lodged strong protest over the remarks of the law minister. They staged a walkout and staged a sit-in at the steps of the assembly building along with Aisha Ahad Malik.
The situation reached to such an extent that the speaker and senior advisor to the Chief Minister Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa went out of the assembly under security of the guards. The provincial law minister could not leave the assembly building for several hours.
Aisha Ahad later announced that she would protest at the PML-N public meeting on 31st December in Gujranwala to seek justice.
