Minister declares gas emergency in January

Petroleum Minister Dr Asim Hussain has announced that there will be gas emergency in country in January, a private TV channel reported.
While talking to journalists, Dr Asim Hussain announced gas emergency. He said that gas was in acute shortage in the country and the ministry was trying its best to regulate gas under a tight schedule so that all sections get a fair supply. However, he said, January would face severe gas shortage, and it would be like gas emergency in January.
Protests have already broken out in Faisalabad and other areas due to prolonged gas load shedding.
A report said the other day that the government was considering shutting CNG stations across Sindh for a month, a step which would push the irked people to the edge.
