Turkish air strikes kill 11 Kurds in s.east Turkey

Turkish air strikes killed at least 11 villagers in the southeast of the country, near the Iraqi border, early Thursday, an official of the pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) said.
Ertan Eris, a councillor in Sirnak province where the bombing took place, said 11 bodies have been identified in the village of Ortasu, in remarks televised on the pro-Kurdish Roj TV.
Local security officials confirmed the bombing but declined to give the number of casualties.
Hasip Kaplan, a Sirnak MP, told AFP he was informed of the incident around 03.00 am (0100 GMT), and that “councillors and ambulances went to the area”.
The pro-Kurdish Firat news agency reported that 28 villagers, including children, were killed in the strikes.
