Shah Rukh Khan eager to visit Pakistan

For those who don’t know, Badhsah of Bollywood has his ancestral base in Peshawar, Pakistan. And for all obvious reasons, the Pathan has a soft corner for the country and its people. The actor gave an interview to a leading Pakistani English daily and expressed his desire to visit Pakistan as and when work takes him there.
On being asked if he would ever oblige his Pakistani fans by meeting them in person, SRK had said, “One of these days, I will come to Pakistan. I will come to Pakistan when work takes me there.” King Khan, as he is lovingly addressed, does not find a mention in the good books of Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray and his nephew Raj, for they believe he favours Pakistan.
SRK’s fondness for celebrities from across the border was apparent when he spoke about the inclusion of Pakistani cricketers in the Indian Premier League even as India was trying to overcome the 26/11 terror attacks. The actor’s fan following increased manifold post ‘My Name Is Khan’.
Talking about the film, Khan said, “I’m glad people liked Khan (‘My Name is Khan’) all over the world for a very simple reason. I’m not claiming to know everything but I do know that as a Muslim it’s important for me to tell the world who we really are. It’s important for us to explain Islam to the world and it’s important for the world to know Islam and what it truly stands for. But that’s not the only reason I did the film. It was a good experience.”
