The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MPAs staged protest on the floor of Punjab Assembly here on Thursday regarding the issue of development funds.
When the assembly session started, opposition leader Raja Riaz stood up and said that the chief minister had promised development funds that must be released for PPP MPAs.
In reply, Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that technically the MPAs of PPP should also be accommodated, but the PPP MPAs have been allocated Rs70 million by the federal government on orders from the prime minister.
He said not just that, the MPAs have also been allowed licenses of prohibited bores so that they could take the law in their hands.
This irritated the PPP MPAs, who started shouting “take away law minister, bring in chief minister”.
Later, the session was adjourned till 9am tomorrow (Friday) due to demise of MPA Amir Hayat Rokhri.
