The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MPA and opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz on Thursday said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) parliamentarians are leaving their party due to the attitude of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Talking to reporters outside the Punjab Assembly, Raja Riaz said that PML-N MPAs are more annoyed with Shahbaz than they are with Nawaz Sharif, adding that “the pampered CM of Punjab” has not attended the current session of the assembly even for a minute.
Raja Riaz observed that Nawaz talks of sweeping the next elections, but he should see his own MPs are being swept away.
Commenting of the Unification Bloc, he said that they are nothing but a group of opportunists, who are now inclined towards PTI.
Riaz also said that the impression of a standoff between the government and the judiciary was wrong, adding that the court’s order put Husain Haqqani’s name on the Exit Control List (ECL) and the government complied.
He said the government would implement any court order taken in accordance with the constitution. He also said the president has made it clear that the government has no conflict in or outside Pakistan.
