Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr Asim Hussain has rung alarming bells for the whole nation when
he said that due to gas shortfall plummeting to 1 billion cubic feet, under an emergency programme, gas supply to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations and industries would be stopped from the first week of January.
Speaking to mediamen at the inauguration ceremony of the Adhi Oil Field, he informed that the pressure of gas supply was so low that compressors could shutdown anytime and in that case there would be no gas for two weeks.
Under a nationwide gas emergency plan the CNG stations would have to be shut from January, he added.
The minister also blasting chairman of All Pakistan CNG Association said that he should shun politics over the issue and stop robbing the nation.
The CNG association should stop lying as it was earning a profit of Rs28 per kg, he added.
Shifting burden of responsibility he blamed the previous government for exploitation of gas resources and profiteering.
