Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir said on Wednesday that strict action would be taken against those transgressing the limits of law and ethics on the eve of New Year. The CCPO said that on the New Year eve, over 10,000 police personnel will perform their duty, while the divisional superintendents police (SPs) have been directed to be informed regarding New Year events being conducted in their areas. They have also been directed to ensure that strict action is taken when a contravention of law, including indulging in drinking, aerial firing, one-wheeling, aggressive racing and hooliganism, is observed.
