It seems that President Asif Ali Zardari is afraid of the judiciary, said Sindh United Party (SUP) chief Syed Jalal Mahmood Shah on Tuesday. Commenting on Zardari’s speech that was delivered in Naudero, Larkana, Shah said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders are trying to save their government by hoodwinking the people. But the people of Sindh are aware of the PPP’s tactics, he added. He said Zardari should not ask Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry about the progress of his wife’s murder case. Instead, he added, the president should inform the people why his own government has not provided sufficient evidence to the courts in this case. The SUP chief said the changing stance of the government high-ups over the memo scandal proves their frustration, which would, ultimately, take them to their end. He rejected Zardari’s claim of doing much for redressing the grievances of the Baloch people. He said the PPP government has done nothing in this regard during its four-year rule.
