Despite the passage of four years, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government has failed to apprehend Benazir Bhutto’s murderers, said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday. Talking to the media after meeting Pakistan Muslim League-Functional chief Pir Pagara at a local private hospital, Qureshi said the PPP could not have turned into “Zardari League” if his wife had not been assassinated. The PTI leader had visited Pagara to inquire after his health as the latter was admitted in the hospital a few weeks ago. Qureshi claimed that Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has sought the help of the defence secretary for his son’s success in the by-elections. “If the memo is nothing more than a piece of paper, then why has the government constituted a parliamentary committee to probe the matter?” asked the PTI vice chairman. According to him, the government’s contradictory statements regarding the memo issue prove the charge-sheet against the government. Responding to a question, he said the PTI would contact all political parties, including the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.
