PTI chief Imran Khan said people of Pakistan were fed up with politics of inheritance which had held country hostage in the name of protection of democracy.
Imran Khan said this in an interview with an Iranian TV channel. He said these politicians had stashed money to the off shore accounts and were having assets in foreign countries.
“These rulers were paying no tax and were imposed on the country;” he said adding people of Pakistan wanted to get rid of these politicians. “I am striving to eliminate ancestral politics from the country”, he remarked.
He went on to say people of Muslim countries wanted democracy to be put in place in their respective countries. People were fed up with the corrupt and puppet rulers who wanted to impose foreign agenda upon them contrary to their will and aspirations.
Western countries wanted to secularize Muslim societies by extending assistance to Pro-West Muslim countries, he observed.
Following the revolution in Iran, western countries felt threatened that Islamic wave had swept entire Muslim world. Therefore, they stepped up efforts to secularise Muslim societies, he observed. People in Muslim countries were striving to achieve democratic rights, he held. It was our bad luck that western countries view us pro-west, moderate or liberal, he remarked.

  2. Imran is right. People in Pakistan are fed up now with two family system in place now for decades here. They are not willing to see son after father or daughter after monther of one powerful family as a ruler. That's why the idea of "change" that Imran has brought to fore is catching attention of all and sundry.

    • Very well said Asim. Imran Khan has no relative to groom to postion that is why he is pointing fingers.

  3. imran, why are you attracting people who beleive that qadri did the right thing by killing salman taseer

  4. Family (or dynastic) rule is a throwback to the middle-ages where, unfortunately, Pakistan is stuck. Off with their heads!

  5. Imran is doing the right thing to partner with key players. Pakistani political setup and approach makes it unbreakable otherwise. Imran has learnt after 15 years on how to break into the vote banks. If we took the approach of waiting for the people to accept new people then unfortunatly we will be waiting another 2 generations in the hope literacy rates improve and people break away from the traditional ties used to gather support.
