Four dead on roads in one day

At least four people were killed in separate road accidents here in the provincial metropolis on Monday. In first of these incidents, a car crashed into a tree in Mustafabad police precincts claiming life of a middle-aged woman while 6 others including two children were badly injured.
The deceased, identified as 45-year-old Rukhsana Bibi was in the car along with his son-in-law, three daughters and two grandchildren, when the vehicle hit a tree. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced Rukhsana dead upon arrival. Meanwhile in other accidents on Jail Road and Nawab Town, 22-years-old Qasim and Rasheed were crushed to death by speeding vehicles respectively.
Separately, Muhamad Akram, a resident of Kahna who had sustained injuries in a traffic accident two days ago also succumbed to his wounds.
LABOURER FOUND DEAD: A man was found dead under mysterious circumstances from the Lower Mall police precincts here on Monday. Police said 25-year-old Muhammad Akhtar hailed from Narowal and was in Lahore for his work as a labourer.
The deceased was found unconscious by his comrades on Friday and was taken to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The police moved the body to a city morgue for an autopsy
POLICE ROUND UP FOUR GAMBLERS: Iqbal Town police claimed on Monday to have arrested four alleged gamblers here on Friday. Police said one of those arrested, Mian Ahmad, ran a gambling den and the arrests were made in a raid. Police also recovered mobile phones, money and computers from them. Similarly, Akbari Gate police claimed on Monday to have arrested a robber and recovering firearms from him on Friday. Farman was captured by the locals when he tried to snatch mobile phone and money from a shopkeeper. The locals then handed him over to police.
GANG BUSTED: The AMCLS City Division Investigation Police busted a bike snatchers gang and recovered 10 motorcycles on Monday.
Police said three members of the ‘Lenda bike snatcher gang’ were arrested by a police team. They were identified as ringleader Zubair alias Lenda, Ilyas alias Chacha and Waqas. The snatched motorcycles are said to be worth Rs 0.4 million. Police also seized some firearms from the suspects.
