Naeem said he was carrying his son and accompanied by his two brothers when accused Zahid threatened to kill him for stopping him from aerial firing. He said Zahid fired on him but the bullet hit Nauman, who died at the spot. Nauman was the second of Naeem’s three children. Sources confirmed the verbal clash between Zahid and Naeem.
They said the child became his father’s shield when the gun shot was fired. The accused managed to escape from the scene. Police registered a case on Naeem’s complaint but no arrest had been made. Earlier Gowalmandi Police Station House Officer SI Hamza told media that the accused had an old enmity with another local, Shano, who had killed his brother a few years ago and would fire in the air to offend his rival but the bullet hit minor Nauman, who died instantly. In another incident in Gowalmandi, resident of Gordwara Street, Muneer Ahmed, 45, was murdered by his neighbor after a verbal clash between the two. Sources said the clash was over giving meat to pigeons, after which his neighbor Shareef alias Kino shot him dead.
