Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain congratulated Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for holding a ‘successful’ show in Karachi, the hub of MQM’s politics, media reported on Monday.
Khan’s other political opponents, however, criticized him for what they called his ‘wrong’ policies.
The cricketer-turned-politician brought more than half million people into the streets of Karachi on Sunday in a massive rally that increased pressure on PPP-led government, cementing his standing as a political force.
MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari, on behalf of his party chief Altaf Hussain, congratulated Imran Khan for holding such a big show in the metropolis.
Similarly, veteran politician and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed also termed the mass meeting a success.
However, Imran’s arc rivals, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leaders seemed annoyed and confused, criticizing the PTI chief.
PPP Senator Faisal Raza Abidi said the rally was undoubtedly successful “but the PTI leadership should be held accountable for spending more than 15 million rupees on rally’s organization.”
PML-N’s Information Secretary Ahsan Iqbal deplored veteran party fellow Javed Hashmi’s joining of Imran Khan’s faction, saying “those who change political loyalties for personal interests can’t bring a revolution”.

  1. This faisal Raza Abidi fellow is an idiot. As your party sinks with Zardari, get used to it. BTW we are still waiting for an answer from you-where did Zardari get the $60mn from?

    • Well put MKK.Any body knows this boy's background. Why does he prefer to stay in the Presidency and what is his job description??? Is he really a Senator?

  2. Very Well Said MKK 🙂
Ahsan Iqbal – If your party cant respect veteran politicians like Javed Hashmi and didnt understood his worth, feel happy that he joined a party for which he was always meants for.

  3. Faisal is a great intelligent and devoted politician. He is energetic zealous young honest a self made politician.

  4. Karachi is capital of Sindh and IK did not utter a word about the situation in Sindh and his opening remarks indicated that he has decided to give up principled politics and compromised his hitherto policy towards the MQM. Let me remind IK that he was determined not long ago to continue his efforts until Altaf was behind the bars.

  5. javed hashmi was better off in pml-n. he is now out of the frying pan, into the fire. ask us, a group who joined pti but left it as no one ever cared & imran khan is an arrogant dictator. javed hashmi would soon be missing a soft spoken & more humane man as nawaz sharif.

  6. The language used by some leaders against the President was highly objectionable. PTI should have thanked the leadership of PPP and the PM for allowing this show of strength by PTI. This was nothing more than a show of Turn Coats. Yes, it was a big show but the language was Street Level.

  7. Having attended the rally/jalsa myself, must say it was simply outstanding overall, especially in terms of the show of strength towards a peaceful revolution – in order to bring about genuine/proper change – and in uniting the people of Karachi, from different ethnic backgrounds and walks of life! Sadly, the "forces" opposing this "Tsunami", or the pro status quo supporters, are stooping to ludicrous and insane levels in attacking Imran/PTI! The audacity shown by these people – supporters of the status quo parties, etc. – is simply alarming, given the fact that pretty much every other vital institution of this bankrupt country (that is rich in various resources) has been "raped"/plundered, though brazenly absurd maladministration and blatant corruption! Shame and hypocrisy (in some instances) galore!

  8. LOL @ Ghani Cheema…abay sharam aani chahyiay aisay ghatya panay ya khula jhoot par! I attended the jalsa myself and was just at awe at the genuine support, across the ethnic spectrum, for Imran/PTI and a peaceful revolution! What a shame that our country is in such a huge mess, on a number of fronts, and we have ludicrous "reactions" like these! At least take some heed from the Erdogan government and it's revolutionary changes (in Turkey) 🙂
