Govt terms memo pack of lies in its reply

The federal government has submitted its long awaited answer in memo case to Supreme Court stating that memo is just a piece of paper which can not pose any threat to national security, a private TV reported.
The federation submitted that memo is a pack of lies. Pak Army is world’s 8th big Army and there is no threat to its security, the memo said, adding that a piece of paper, written by a foreigner, cannot lower the morale of Pakistani nation and Army. Memo is a piece of writing downloaded from internet, it said.
The federal government said that it is true that General Pasha informed the Army Chief regarding the memo issue on October 24; however, it is not understandable why this matter was not taken into prime minister’s notice immediately.
It is contended that Army’s sacrifices for the nation are commendable however, nation also sacrificed for country’s security and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life for the sake of nation.
The government said that the parliamentary committee, which has representation of all political parties, is looking into the matter. The federal government has already submitted that memo is not linked with the prime minister or the president, the reply read.
