JI appeals to Lahoris to attend sit-in

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Munawar Hasan, in a statement on Saturday, appealed to the people of Lahore to join the JI sit-in in the city on Sunday (today) in large numbers to demonstrate their love for the country.
He hoped that the rally, being held at the Ichrra Mor, Ferozepur Road, would change the political course in the country, saying that the people who want the corrupt and incompetent government to quit would surely attend the rally.
He said that the JI has launched a campaign against the US interference in the country for the protection of the country’s sovereignty and elimination of corruption.
He said that the JI wanted to eliminate inflation and unemployment as well. JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch, addressing several meetings in different parts of the city, said that the JI rally would be the biggest show of the Lahoris, who would demonstrate their dissatisfaction with the present government.
