Boy killed by speeding bus

A boy was crushed to death by a speeding vehicle in Factory Area Police precincts on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Rehman, a 12-year-old resident of the Walton Road. According to the police, the victim was going somewhere on his bicycle when a speeding bus hit him from behind and fled from the scene. Abdul Rehman received serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The police have registered a case against the unidentified driver and handed over the deceased’s body to his family.
FIRE CLAIMS VALUABLES IN 2 DIFFERENT INCIDENTS: Valuables worth thousands of rupees were reduced to ashes when fire broke out in two different incidents on Saturday.
In the first incident, fire broke out in a house of Ashfaq, a resident of Hunjarwal, due to short circuit and reduced the valuables worth thousands of rupees to ashes. In another incident, fire broke out in a house located in the Johar Town.
Fire fighters reached the spot and extinguished the fire after hectic efforts. No casualties were reported in the two incidents.
LAHORE CTO FOR STERN ACTION AGAINST TRAFFIC VIOLATORS: The Lahore chief traffic officer (CTO) on Saturday directed the circle incharges to take stern actions against the violators of traffic signals and one-way drivers. According to a handout issued on Saturday, the CTO requested the citizens to follow the traffic rules and regulations, adding that he would visit different areas and monitor the performance of traffic wardens.
POLICE ARRESTS GANG MEMBERS: The Naulakha and Civil Lines Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested three accused persons of two gangs involved in bike and car lifting. The Naulakha Police arrested an accused person identified as Rafiq alias Kaka, ringleader of the Kaka bike lifter gang and recovered 3 motorbikes from his custody. While the Civil Lines Police arrested two accused persons identified as Ghulam Mustafa and Ali Akbar of the Masti Gang and recovered a bike and several illicit weapons from their custody.
