Boy dies attempting wheelie

A teenager died in an accident while his friend was injured here on Friday. The incident took place in the Mughalpura police precincts when those youngsters were pulling a wheelie stunt on their motorbike. Police said two teenagers named Saron Maseeh and Javed Maseeh, both residents of Sadr Bazar Mughalpura, were doing a wheelie on a motorcycle when their bike collided with an power pylon.
TWO OFFICIALS BOOKED: Separately, the Lytton Road police have registered a case against two staffers of the Minerals department for allegedly embezzling Rs 9 million.
Police said the case was registered against Muhammad Bota and Muhamad Nawaz on the complaint of Assistant Director Imran Anwar. Imran alleged that both men had embezzled the money by issuing fake tickets of the department.
NINETEEN HELD OVER
ADULTERY CHARGES: The North Cantt area police Friday claimed to have arrested 19 people including 8 women for their “immoral activities”. Police said the arrests were made during a raid at a guest house. SHO Sibtain Shah raided a guest house at Tufail Road and nabbed 8 women and 11 men and recovered drugs from them.
BIG CACHE OF HEROINE SEIZED: The Saddar Division Police on Friday arrested a smuggler and recovered heroine weighing 92 kg from his possession. The contraband is said to be worth Rs 640 million, Operations DIG Ghulam Mehmood and Saddar Division SP Shoaib Khurram Janbaz told reporters here at a press briefing.
The DIG said they on a tip-off raided a rented house Raiwind City and arrested a smuggler named Riffat Ullah. The police party also recovered 92 kilograms of heroine during the raid. He said Riffat Ullah’s five acomplices were still at large and police were looking for them.
