A woman was killed and five others injured when a mortar shell landed on a house here on early Friday morning.
According to local sources, a mortar shell fired from an unknown location landed at a residential house in Shalobar area of Khyber Agency.
A portion of the house was destroyed and a woman was killed while five others including women and children sustained injuries.
The neighbours and relatives of the victims’ family rescued the injured and shifted them to a nearby hospital for treatment. According to hospital sources, condition of two injured persons was serious.
Political administration sources said that the house was not target of the miscreants but the shell landed before reaching the target.
