The health of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) chief and the spiritual leader of Hurs, Pir Pagara, has deteriorated and is very critical as he is treated at an intensive care unit of a private hospital in Karachi, Pakistan Today has learnt.
Pagara was admitted to the hospital on November 24 due to some breathing problems.
Sources told Pakistan Today that the condition of Pagara is critical and chances of his recovery are minimal.
The hospital management has only said that Pagara’s condition is ‘critical’ but is not ready to divulge more details about his health on patient’s privacy, which the hospital is bound to follow.
“Only the person who brought Pir Pagara to the hospital and signed the admission card is allowed to visit the leader in the intensive care,” sourced said. “Even the relatives of Pagara are not being allowed inside.”
“[Pagara] is on a ventilator,” the insiders said, but the private hospital did not confirm the state of the veteran politician.
On December 4, President Asif Ali Zardari had appealed to his party workers to pray for the health of the PML-F chief, whose party is a coalition partner of the Pakistan People’s Party in the federal and provincial governments.
During his recent visit to Karachi, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif also stated his desire to meet the spiritual leader of Hurs in the hospital, but he was not allowed to meet Pagara.
Meanwhile, the PML-F is also not ready to tell anything about the health of Pagara.
