The National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) has decided that all the public service vehicles (PSVs), which have installed the CNG cylinders would not be allowed on motorways and highways without due fitness certificates from the Hydro Development Institute of Pakistan (HDIP). A press statement to that effect issued here on Thursday said that all the PSV operators could get those fitness certificates within next 10 days, after which the ban would be imposed.
It also said that those, who could not get the certificates even after the deadline, would also be fined. Meanwhile, the NH&MP IG Wajid Ali Khan Durrani has also told all the DIGs to ensure the removal of CNG cylinders from the rooftops of public vans. The authority took these decisions after three accidents, involving CNG cylinder blasts, had been reported nationwide.

  1. Although it is a good decision but how one can judge that Certificate is not fake while everybody knows that all ill legal issues can be easily solved by money in our society. it is better to ban CNG cylinders in public service vehicles and rate of Diesil oil must be reduced as in past Diesel was cheaper than patrol.
