The martyred officials of the Islamabad Police force have left behind indelible memories and heroic examples that will continue to inspire others in the fight against terrorism.
Though, there can be no compensation for the supreme sacrifice in service of the nation, the government is providing maximum relief and financial support to the bereaved families through the Prime Minister’s Package.
It was stated by Goodwill Ambassador for Women Empowerment Syeda Fiza Batool Gilani while distributing cheques and sewing machines at the Police Lines among the families of martyred cops who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Shahnaz Wazir Ali, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Bani Amin Khan, DIG (Headquarters) Ahmed Mukarram, SSP (Headquarters) Zubair Ahmed Hashmi, SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik and SSP (Traffic) Dr Moeen Masood were also present on the occasion. She said the educational expenses and house rent were also included in the package for the families of policemen while their kin were being provided jobs in the Police Department.
She said the morale of police was very much high and the whole nation was proud of the gallant cops for ensuring security to the people by putting their own lives at risk. Batool said any incident happening in Islamabad affected the image and economy of the country besides larger impact in the outer world. “A total of 42 cops from Islamabad Police have embraced martyrdom in various terror incidents but it is appreciable that force did not bow before mischievous elements and make people proud of their brave custodians.” She also visited the National Police Martyrs’ Monument and Safwat Ghayur Gallery where she prayed for the departed souls. She said courageous role of Islamabad Police to protect citizens had won hearts of people who lived up to expectations as custodians of law and order.
Fiza Batool Gilani also mingled with families of martyred cops and listened to their problems. She assured them for early action on their complaints.
