In the midst of Pakistan’s energy crisis, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has launched a weeklong media campaign titled “Bijli Pani Week” to raise awareness about energy efficiency and conservation, said a press release issued by USAID on Wednesday.
According to the handout, the campaign would include testimonials of actual beneficiaries of USAID’s Tube Well Efficiency Improvement Programme, TV commercials advertising the 50 percent subsidy available on energy efficient pumps and, for the first time in Pakistan, a docu-drama that seeks to educate its audience about the benefit of adopting energy-efficient practices. The 60-minute drama can be seen on PTV Home on December 18, 2011 and December 25, 2011, it added.
