In the affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court, COAS Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has said that the news regarding the memo-gate is correct and evidence regarding the contacts made in the context of the conspiracy is available.
The COAS also wrote that the memo issue has dented national security and lowered the morale of the armed forces.
The SC had asked the president, the PM, the COAS and the ISI DG to submit their affidavits for the hearing of the memo case. All have submitted their replies, but President Zardari has not.
In the last hearing, the Chief Justice has told the attorney general that no reply in a civil case means acceptance of the guilt. The court had issued a written order, calling for a reply from the president, but the reply has not been filed.
Meanwhile, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar and Ghaus Ali Shah also submitted their second replies to the court.
Talking to journalists, Attorney General Maulvi Anwar ul Haq said that General Kayani’s second reply had been submitted to the court.
The AG said that COAS stood firm by his old stance in the second reply. In the affidavit submitted to the court, Gen Kayani said that all his earlier statements were based on facts and nothing had been kept hidden from the court.
Nawaz Sharif in his second reply said that he had not sought halt to an inquiry being held by the Parliamentary Committee of National Security (PCNS). He, however, added that in the same spirit, neither parliament nor the administration could stop the court from playing its constitutional role.
If only the President is left to put his views on record it can create serious problems for him. He might wish to reconsider his decision not to co-operate with the court. or otherwise his advisers may advice him to file in a written reply soon..
I've been Hilted.
–Gen. Pervez Kiyani.
ممکنہ حکومتی جواب سپریم کورٹ میں "میمو ہی تو لکھا ہے، کوئی چوری تو نہیں کی ہے-ڈاکہ تو نہیں ڈالاچوری تو نہیں کی"
There is not a word about our Armed forces protecting OBL & USA choppers violating our airspace without anyone finding out till they left our territory.
If we can't defend anything then why have such a large army,Gen.Kiyani!!!
It is right time to stand with the Armed Forces ,memo gate has lowered the morals of the Forces .If case was not put before the SC,agression and cope by the Forces was expected.
If our armed forces hv such a weak morale which can be lowered by an unsigned document, then God bless our country. Memo is a fraud document invented by ISI with the help of a double agent and a dubious character Mansoor Ejaz to derail democracy and quench powerlust of army generals.
Well it appears you are trying to complement our spy agency. Do it openly and in resounding manner. They are the best in the business, albeit sometimes get out of line.
Pakistani generals only need a pretext to grab power. Funny, the morale of the Army was not lowered when it gave a guard-of-honour to a traitor Pervez Musharraf!
Believe me it can lower the moral. If a father goes to a neighbour and tells him to come around and smack his son's bare bottom when he is at home with his friends only because he is rightly objecting to some of his extra-curricular activities, it would damage the boy and lower his morale.
@wasim: hehehehehehe nice joke of democracy! There is no democracy here, I would love to see Army taking down this Government who haven't done anything but crying on death of BB, there are many living beings need attention and all Govt did until now is giving a sh**.
And don't state anything about army, you're alive because of them and they're the ones fighting for your protection and their morale matters. They're not living in beautiful castles and sleeping day and night on the money of your nation like your president does.
Army ka moral kahin gir giya…kisi ko milay tau GHQ mein wapis jama kara de
it is duty of civl governtment to bring army under contor of pearliment genral sahib muqadas coe banna choor do be answer able to elected government
Thanks to Mr Husain haqqani's loyalty to Pakistan. he must should be punished for that.
