Pir Sahib Pagara, after breaking his 12-year vow of not meeting PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, has agreed to meet him at Kingri House on Tuesday at 12:00 noon.
Reliable sources informed Online that when the government of Nawaz Sharif was overthrown in a coup on October 12, 1999 by Pervez Musharraf, Pir Pagara had supported Pervez Musharraf, while his PML-F remained active in all governmental set-ups, during Musharraf’s era. Any further relations between Pir Pagara and Nawaz Sharif broke down during Nawaz Sharif’s exile.
Various PML factions made their utmost efforts to contact Pir Pagara for unity in a single PML entity, but failed to make any headway. After 12 years of stalemate, hectic efforts by such PML-N leaders like Syed Ghous Ali Shah, Mamnoon Hussain, and Saleem Zia managed to thaw the relations between strained leaders.
Sources have informed that in today’s meeting both leaders would strive to end all previous grievances, which was likely to make progress in furthering the cause of PML unity.
When contacted by Online, PML-N Sindh’s chief organiser Saleem Zia confirmed the historical meeting between the two leaders.
