3-day anti-polio campaign launched

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah inaugurated a three-day anti-polio campaign in the province on Monday by administering vaccine to children at a ceremony at the chief Minister’s House. Shah said all commissioners, deputy commissioners, district health officers and medical officers have been instructed to make the campaign a success and take special measures for covering the campaign up till union councils in rural areas, so that no child is left unattended.
He said it is very alarming that at present, 30 polio cases have been detected in various areas of the province, and the provincial government is striving to complete the polio eradication target in all areas. Under the target, 3,943,432 children in 23 districts will be vaccinated against polio during the campaign. There would be 11,228 teams performing duty under the task. There would be 9,493 mobile teams, 951 centres and 784.points functioning to achieve the goal.
