Asma Jahangir, counsel for Pakistan’s former ambassador to the United States Husain Haqqani, said on Monday that Director-General (DG) Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Ahmed Shuja Pasha should have resigned when Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was found and killed in Abbottabad.
Speaking to media representatives outside the Supreme Court, Asma said appropriate methods should be adopted to criticise the court’s decisions and a lawyer should especially be very careful in this regard.
She said she was disappointed that copies of Mansoor Ijaz’s reply, which was sent through an email, was immediately distributed to others but was provided after a delay to her.
Expressing her satisfaction with today’s hearing, Asma said that she was prepared to defend her client to her utmost capabilities.

  1. Ms Jahangir, I am very sorry to say that you do not have a clue what you are talking about.

It would be better if you were to concentrate on work at hand i.e. defending Mr Haqqani former ambassador of Pakistan to US. Thank you.

  2. no surprise Ms Jahangir is a sleeper cell of foreign NGOs who will call her abroad and provide a shield and big cash award for strengthening democracy by protecting Haqqanni and its team by creating media confusion and bogus statement from general jones :))

btw missy did samma tv started showing better pic of yours or not I heard you are complaining they are showing horrible pics of yours .

    • Your are definitely not 'the Moonis' rolling in comfort with your in-laws in London! or are you? Please clarify.

  3. Bravo Bravo Asma. We r with you.
These nalmeless & faceless people r only there to defensd the sharif court.

  4. You are definitively not Moonis Illahi rolling in comfort with your in-laws in London! OR
    are you. Please c;arify

  5. The independence of Judiciary is a farce. The big Chaudhry, the Chief Justice of Pakistan is acting more like a disgruntled MNA, then the Chief Justice of a country. The people are left to rot and their plight can not be heard by anybody at any forum. The cause of missing person and extra judicial killings by agencies, the top agenda of chaudhry before being sacked are not on any radar, while the No. of missing persons in Baluchistan alone have tripled. Yes, the same Baluchistan, from where our Independent Chief justice belonged to.

    • The people missing are the one who hv turned their rifles against the state of Pakistan which itself is a crime. Missing persons is the issue wherever the state is fighting an insurgency, even in a developed country like Spain where ETA activists are frequently picked without a charge!

    • AHA is absolutely right. Please forget about justice as long as this man is sitting on CJ's chair.

  6. He should have resigned than and he should have resigned when it was alleged that he sought approval for an act of treason from foreign entities. Haqqani had the dignity to resign and so should he have.

  7. Why should Pakistani people have always to settle for the establishment backed paper tigers and toe the line draw by establishment through information manoeuvring? This same mantra was repeated and put in practice by Hamid Gul – ISI when he instigated and funded IJI. We have seen the mess it created and in the process the whole blame was squarely put on politicians. Now the same scoundrel has personally joined PTI. So again after ten years and great maligning of politicians and loss of life and economic hardshipto the people of Pakistan, we will be at square one. So we should not buy in to the propaganda machine of establishment through "independent Media and Judiciary" and being bitten from the same hole thrice.
How when Imran says he can bring clean people from out of country and settle for the musharaf era turncoats and rejected material politicians from main political parties it is ok, but when same politicians are in those political parties, they are corrupt and involved in feudal politics.

      • Most of the time you act like a monkey, this time you are acting like a mad cow.
And you keep believing that you are 'the hot one'. Chill. Just chill.

Whoever the person is, his/her comment is very straight forward and there is nothing personal that calls for your kind of reaction.

    • Men like Hamid Gul belong to a lot who do everything wrong when in service and once they have lost all power, they start sermonising others. It is a tragedy that such people are in great numbers in our Army which explains the real reason behind our national malaise.

  8. Bibi Jelani who do you think you are representing in court shameless political parasites or the nation? Ok army and Gen Pasha should have information about the operation and should have responded in proper manner but they are subordinates to the political leadership as you claim. So don't you think Mr. President and Shah Sahib the PM should resign first? Army, judiciary and other institutions have responsibility towards the nation but these sajey gameys have no responsibilities against all the perks and all the unprecedented LOOT MAAR!!! I pity Pakistan and lawyer community for being represented by you…

    • Only on paper (or may not even be) they are subordinate to political leadership. In real life it is totally opposite. If you look at Pak history, the politicians got tossed over anytime the military wanted.

    • We all know, in such matters, Army is all powerful. The fight should be to take this power from them. And yes, when you take power away from they, don't forget the plots and lands they take by framing their own rules. A useless General is worth a billion when he retires. This billion does not include all the kickbacks he gets purchasing arms. Our highest Army Generals are involved in arms supply business through their brothers and cronies.

      • And who do you suggest is going to "take this power from them"?? I hope you don't intend on banking on the blatantly corrupt (status quo) politicians that we've had since the 90s or so (such as the topi drama "Noon" league & the PPP or Peeyo Pilao Party), otherwise it'll just be adding to the disaster!! Can't our people (or actually sheeple ;)) take heed of the current setup in Turkey?! As for the entire establishment (both military & civilian)…shame & hypocrisy galore!

  9. And you should shut your mouth after meeting your mentor the scum Bal Tachkeray in India .It people like you that we are in such a mess Just shut up and defend the scum Haqqani because he is a traitior like you

  10. And you should SHUT your mouth Ms. Big Mouth. God! what type of lawyers represent Pakistan before the court of last resort? The poliitcal activist with no understanding of the law.

  11. please excuse pakistan , asima madame . u do not have an iota of love , respect and concern for this country . go and start dancing club in india .

    • She is welcome to open a "dance club " in India, but here in India people do not dance to the tune of the Army !!

      • Haha…yeah in India they dance to the tune of twisted interests (such as "money" ;)), screwed up Capitalism or pretty much the Imperialist interests 😉 Not to forget the massive dominance of the brazenly absurd right-wing Hindu extremists, in their twisted establishment! 🙂

    • We do not need to consider anybody having a different view an enemy. We must acknowledge other people's right to have a different view. This mindset has hurt our nation a lot. 64 years after independence, we need to gain some maturity.

  12. Despite the disaster of 1971, Kargil, OBL in Abbotabad no general has volunteered to resign. Clearly accountability is only applicable to civilians. It is time these generals answered for their mistakes.
