‘Opposition to impede undemocratic powers’

The opposition leader in National Assembly, Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan has said if the country faces any threat from anti-democratic forces, opposition will stand against them in frontline.
Speaking at a point of order in the National Assembly on Monday, he said the government got so much confused on the memogate scandal that the prime minister had to meat Army Chief almost on daily basis.
He added that the protestors in Rawalpindi blocked the Islamabad Expressway for almost six hours due to gas load shedding but the government took no pain on it. The Petroleum minister was performing the duty of personal physician of President Zardari instead of running his ministerial affairs, he said adding, “I have never seen him in the National Assembly as he thinks his disgrace to come to the house.”
He said he has some reservations on the prime minister’s saying that after the clarification of Gen (R) James Jones, the memogate scam should be closed. The matter was in the court and Army Chief declared the matter a reality he said further adding that the prime minister could believe in American general but not in the words of Pakistani general.
He said after signing Charter of Democracy (CoD), a shameful deal was signed with the dictator, due to which the rulers cleared all their sins.
Federal Minister Syed Khurshid Shah said that opposition had the full right to discuss the memo in the parliament and the government was ready to take their harsh criticism.
