Dr Paul distributes Christmas gifts among prisoners

Adviser to Prime Minister for National Harmony Dr. Paul Bhatti on Monday distributed Christmas gifts among the prisoners belonging to minorities at Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi.
Dr Paul also announced formation of a free legal aid cell to facilitate prisoners from minorities who are not in a position to hire a lawyer. The minister accepted the demand of the prisoners to bear the expenditures for the renovation of the church and to build its verandah. The amount of the gifts was collected by the schoolchildren led by the niece of Dr Paul Bhatti, Natasha, who is a student of grade-8 in Canada. Religious service was held and a Christmas cake also cut to celebrate the Christmas event. Dr Paul also lauded the administration of the jail for providing freedom of practising religion to the minorities and said the government was committed to defending the rights of the minorities and taking all possible steps for their uplift.
