At least 14 people were arrested during police search operations in different areas of the city, police said on Sunday.
According to a police official, the targeted operation was launched after receiving information that some criminals were present in the Qasba Colony area of Karachi.
Police launched a house-to-house search after encircling the area and arrested 14 people and recovered 12 pistols from their possession. Police also raided the house of a woman, Shaukat Aara, and recovered an air gun from the house and arrested her son Irfan in this connection.
Meanwhile, heavy contingent of police commandos launched an operation in Katti Pahari area of Orangi town on a tip-off and recovered 12 TT pistols, a revolver and a gun from the possession of suspected miscreants.
