‘Salaries of 1122 personnel to be made equivalent to police’

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Saturday that the salaries of the Rescue 1122 personnel would be raised and made equivalent to the Punjab Police. Sanaullah was addressing the passing out ceremony of over 900 rescuers at the Emergency Services Academy. He appreciated the services of Rescue 1122, adding that the salaries of the Rescue 1122 personnel would be made equivalent to that of the Punjab Police. He said that the current government had expanded Rescue 1122 to the entire province to provide emergency services to the people. On the occasion, the passing out rescuers demonstrated their skills in the rescue of victims, fire-fighting and emergency management in the incidents of mass casualties. The Punjab Emergency Services (Rescue 1122) Director General Dr. Rizwan Naseer congratulated the rescuers, encouraging them to work hard in fulfilling their duties. He informed that the service had rescued over 1,183,000 emergency victims with an average response time of less than seven minutes. He said that prior to their final posting, the emergency staff would move to the emergency departments of teaching hospitals for better liaison between medical practitioners and to understand the protocol of shifting patients.
