15 policemen dismissed

As many as 15 policemen were Saturday dismissed from service while 11 others awarded various departmental punishments by City Police Officer (CPO) Azhar Hameed Khokhar on various charges.
According to details, the CPO took action against the cops here during a meeting held at Police Lines No 1. Those who were dismissed from service were Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Abdur Rehman, constables Muhammad Younas, Muddassir Nazir, Muhammad Niaz, Atif Niaz, Sibtul Hassan, Muhammad Arif, Khizer Hayat, Muhammad Ali, Shahzaib Abbas, Zafar Iqbal, Asim Mahmood, Muhammad Farooq, Muhammad Jabbar and clerk Junaid Mustafa.
In addition, increments of sub inspectors (SIs) Mukhtar Ahmed, Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Saeed, Mohsin Abbas, Tariq Ilyas and Arshad Mahmood were stopped. One annual increment of ASIs Mushtaq Ahmed, Asad Ali and Constable Afraz Shahid were also stopped. One-year service of Constable Abdul Majeed was forfeited. He was also issued a warning. Spokesman for the CPO said the police officials who were awarded different punishments were found guilty of various charges, including irresponsible attitude, negligence and absence from duty.
