A mother of three committed suicide by jumping into the drain in Defence-B police limits on Thursday. The ill-fated woman was identified AS Ambreen, a resident of 499, Z-Block. According to the police, the victim was recovered unconscious from the drain. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced her dead. The police shifted the body to city morgue for autopsy.
MAN SHOT DEAD BY ‘ENEMIES’: A 32-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified persons in Baghbanpura police precincts on Thursday.
The victim was identified as Fiaz Ahmad, a resident of Misri Shah. According to details, the victim was going somewhere on his motorbike when he was intercepted near Salamatpura Stop and shot dead. Police suspected the incident may have been a result of some old enmity. According to Baghbanpura SHO, the victim was a younger brother of Nanna Gaddi, who was killed in a police encounter and the victim had a dispute with a Baloch family of his area.
MAN SHOOTS BEST FRIEND DEAD: A 30-year-old man was killed by his fast friend over minor dispute in Naulakha police jurisdiction on Thursday. The victim was identified as Zahid alias Moja Qasai, a resident of Mohala Kake Zai. According to the police, the deceased was a property dealer and he had a friendship with one Faisal. On the day of the incident, Faisal Butt came to his place as usual to meet him. After some time, they exchanged harsh words with each other. Faisal got infuriated and opened fire on Zahid. As a result, Zahid died on the spot and the accused person managed to escape from the crime scene.
MAN BURNT ALIVE: A 65-year-old man was burnt alive when a cylinder exploded in Shahdra Town police limits on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Ismaeel, a resident of Rasool Park. According to the police, the deceased was busy in cooking food on a cylinder when the cylinder blasted. As a result, the deceased received serious burn injuries and died in a hospital.

PHP ARRESTS TWO: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) arrested two culprits after an encounter and recovered illicit weapon and liquor from their possession in a routine patrolling in Jhangi Wala, Bahawalpur.
In an exchange of fire with a suspicious jeep, the PHP recovered one 30-bore pistol, 1 Repeater 12 bore and 3 litres of alcohol from the culprits.
DRUG PUSHERS HELD: Defence-A police arrested two drug pushers and recovered 45 bottles of liquor from their possession on Thursday. The arrested accused persons were identified as Shahbaz and Shahzad. The police registered a case against the said persons.
