The Sindh High Court ordered release of Mohajir Qaumi Movement (MQM-Haqiqi) chairman Afaq Ahmed on Friday, a private TV channel reported.
The MQM leader appeared in the court where the jury declared null and void his detention under Maintenance of Public Order (MPO), and issued orders for his release.
Last month, he was detained in Landhi District jail for 30 days on Sindh government’s orders. Afaq has been in jail since 2004 facing various cases.
