Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi remembered

The International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) arranged Friday a seminar on the life and achievements of famous Urdu writer and columnist Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi.
The first session of the seminar was chaired by Pakistan Arts Council Chairman Attaul Haq Qasmi, and inaugurated by IIUI Rector Professor Fateh Muhammad Malik while the second session was chaired by renowned poet, Intizar Hussain. Attaul Haq Qasmi said Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi was a great poet, intellectual and lover of human beings and the gap left by his death could not be filled.
Intizar Hussain said that Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi was a man of great calibre and personality. He said that his death created a huge gap in the field of urdu literature. Dr Anwar Ahmad said that Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi was a progressive, intellectual, great journalist, a man of commitment and remained committed through out his life to his principles. He said that Professor Fateh Malik in his book “Nadeem Shanasi” has excellently presented Ahamd Nadeem Qasmi as a great poet of Urdu Literature.
Professor Fateh Malik said that Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi played a pivotal role in projecting the problems of the people and that of the society. He said late Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi was a great poet and national asset.
Fateh Malik presented university crest to Intizar Hussain while Dr Mumtaz Ahmad presented university crest to Attaul Haq Qasmi. IIU President Dr. Mumtaz Ahmad, National Language Authority Chairman Dr Anwar Ahmad, Language & Literature Faculty Dean Dr Rasheed Amjad, female campus director Qaisareh M Alvi also paid homage to Ahamad Nadeem Qasmi. Meanwhile, Dr Sadia Tahir, Dr Rawish Nadeem, and Dr Nawazish Ali presented their research papers on Qasmi.
