‘Enough of you Obama, America!’

Scores of civil society members gathered outside the Lahore Press Club, near the US Consulate General, to denounce the “unprovoked NATO attack” on Pakistani check posts in Salala, Mohmand Agency on Thursday.
The demonstration was held under the aegis of Civil Society Front Pakistan, and paid tribute by lighting candles and lamps to the Pakistan Army soldiers and officers who lost their lives in the NATO attack. An illuminated “PAKISTAN” was designed with hundreds of candles to give a message of solidarity with the army against any invader violation of the borders of country.
Protesters demanded the government raise the matter at the UN Security Council. In the two-hour long demonstration, protesters shouted slogans against the US-led NATO forces and ensured their support for the Pakistan Army.
Extending their sympathies to the families of the martyred soldiers and officers, protesters urged the government to part its ways with the US permanently over the war against terror, as it was repeatedly engaged in killing innocents Pakistanis. The protesters were carrying Pakistani flags, placards and banners inscribed with pro-military, anti-American slogans.
Protesting the attack, the civil society front members also burnt tyres and an effigy of Obama, the president of the USA. They also sang national songs. The prolonged protest caused one of the worst traffic jams in the area.
