GEPCO hikes power tariff by Rs4.05

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) allowed Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) on Wednesday to hike power tariff by Rs4.05 per unit.
NEPRA authorities said the hike has been approved for current fiscal year, according to which the GEPCO will sell the electricity of worth Rs89 billion this year, and that its consumers will have to pay for company’s 10.5 percent line loss.
GEPCO power tariff for domestic consumers have been raised by Rs1 to Rs4.05, that of commercial consumers by Rs3.15, industrial consumers Rs3.1 and agricultural consumers Rs2.53 per unit.
