Expressing dissatisfaction over non-appearance of former provincial minister Altaf Unar and his aides on a petition regarding transfer of journalist Munir Sangi’s murder case from district court Larkana to Karachi court, the Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered on Tuesday to serve summoning orders to all respondents for January 11. The SHC single bench headed by Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh ordered to serve the summons through the Larkana District and Sessions Judge and adjourned the hearing. Former Sindh minister Unar has remained absent from the last several hearings of the case. The petitioner, Hadi Sangi, an uncle of the deceased and a cameraman of Sindhi television channel had prayed the court to immediately transfer the case from Larkana to any court in Karachi division as the influential accused, including the former minister and superintendent of police Abdul Kareem Khoso among others, could cause harm to him and his family members. Sangi was murdered in mid-2005 and despite the passage of six years the case was not taken up.
