A woman died and another sustained severe injuries when a caterer’s truck ran over the ladies during a marriage ceremony in a sanitary worker’s quarter inside Governor House premises on Monday. The deceased woman was identified as Fouzia, wife of Robin Maseeh and a resident of Rawalpindi while the injured woman was identified as Nosheen. According to details, both women had come to attend the marriage ceremony held at residence of sanitary worker Rashid Maseeh in T/8 Quarter 13 of Governor House. After the marriage ceremony, a helper of catering service namely Mubashar crushed the women when he was turning the truck around. While being taken to hospital, doctors announced Fouzia dead while Nosheen was stated in critical condition in hospital. Police arrested Mubashar and registered the case against him on complaint of Rashid Maseeh.
INSPECTOR DISMISSED: A former sub-inspector of Race Course Police Station was dismissed from police service for poor investigation of a murder case. According to details, Civil Lines Investigations SP terminated Sub Inspector Basharat Ali after the charge of taking bribe in a murder case was proved against him. Ali was appointed investigations officer of a constable’s murder inquiry but he helped accused after taking money from him. Later, on application of the other party, SP had ordered enquiry which proved the charges on Basharat.
DEAD BODIES RECOVERED: An old man, found unconscious in Muslim Town and died in hospital, was identified as 55-years-old Muhammad Rafique. The deceased was resident of Model Town F-Block and a patient of liver disorder. The body was handed over to the heirs of deceased after due process.
A 55-years-old eunuch was found dead in a room near Ravi Bridge in Badami Bagh police limits. The deceased was identified as Shahid Pervez, originally a resident of Shahdra. Shahid had left his parents and was staying in a rented room near Ravi Bridge. According to details, the neighbors got to know about body when it started decomposing and informed the police about it. Police entered the room after breaking the door and found Pervez lying dead. Police said the deceased passed away due to natural causes. A 25-years-old man was found dead near Baba Qutab Shah shrine in Misri Shah police limits. Police suspected the deceased died by taking excessive drugs.
GAMBLERS NABBED: Shahdra and Civil Lines police claimed to have arrested the 17 gamblers and recovered thousands of gambling money from their possession. Police has started investigations in the matter after registering separate cases against accused in two police stations.
