IGP for installation of home security alarms

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Bani Amin Khan has ordered all the station house officers in the capital to ensure installation of security alarm system in the houses located within their jurisdiction. The orders have been issued in order to curb robbery and theft incidents in the city, a statement issued here Tuesday said.
Such security alarm system has already been installed in almost all the houses in sectors G-10 and G-11. The IGP asked the SHOs that installation of such system should be completed within the next 15 days.
The IGP has also directed the police officials to take further effective steps to control crimes in the city. The IGP issued these orders during a meeting held here, said the statement.
SSP Headquarters Zubair Ahmed Hashmi, SSP (Traffic) Dr Moeen Masood SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik, all the four SPs, all sub-divisional police officers (SDPOs), ACLC in-charge and the CIA police personnel and station house officers were also present on the occasion.
The IGP lauded effective security arrangements by Islamabad police on the occasion of 10 Muharram. He also announced to award commendation certificates for SPs, SDPOs, all SHOs and other officials who accomplished the task of elaborate security for Muharram procession through their hard work.
He also appreciated the performance of Islamabad Traffic Police which diverted traffic on alternate routes for Muharram processions and worked hard for convenience to road users.
The IGP said that this meeting has been arranged to boost the morale of policemen, however, he directed to adopt further effective strategy to control crime too.
He said that corrupt elements bringing a bad name to the department would not be spared and urged all police officials to serve humanity.
