Former federal minister Senator Muhammad Ali Durrani has said that the statement of the prime minister is conflictive with the constitution of Pakistan and is a heinous conspiracy against the country’s security for personal interests.
“After the worst corruption and loot and plunder in the country for four years, this statement in the last year of the government’s tenure is an attempt to push the country into the fire of lingual hatred.
After plunging the people who voted for him into the darkness of poverty and price-hike, the prime minister has stabbed the party, which named him the prime minister, in the back to realise the dream of his children’s rule,” Senator Muhammad Ali Durrani said while chairing a consultative meeting here on Monday.
Senator Durrani said that besides the Bahawalpur region and Punjab, the prime minister would also make the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, whose areas he wants to cut for carving a new province for the future politics of his family, to confront the People’s Party.
He said through this step, the prime minister is writing a new history of betraying the benefactor. He said the parliament should, without any delay, take notice of the statement based on hatred. Describing the submission of a resolution in the Punjab Assembly for the creation of Southern Punjab province as a rare sample of fraud and deceit, Senator Muhammad Ali Durrani said that the prime minister supported the Bahawalpur province in by-election in NA-184 (Bahawalpur) constituency and the leadership of the Muslim League-Quaid did so in the by-election in PA-275 (Bahawalpur) constituency so now both the parties have defrauded the people of Bahawalpur by submitting the South Punjab province resolution in the Punjab Assembly.
“Nothing else changes colours as fast as our politicians change their statements. Any legislator who will sign the Southern Punjab province resolution, he will sign warrant for his political demise because the people of Bahawalpur do not want to become a part of Southern Punjab or Seraikistan in any circumstances,” he said.
“The Bahawalpur province will have to be restored and then any new province will come into being,” he emphasised. Bahawalpur National Awami Party Central Secretary General Abida Durrani, Syed Mahmood Nawaz Gardezi, Shahid Hameed Rehmani, Seth Shamsur Rehman, Humayun Gulzar, Qari Moonis Baloch, Malik Muhammad Qasim Khokhar, Ahmed Ahzaz Goshi, Chaudhry Abbas Gondal, Syed Nasir Rizvi, Haji Baleegh-ur-Rehman, Muhammad AkramAnsar and Mahar Saeed Ahmed were present on the occasion.
